Mummy’s 6 week check up…

6 weeks ago you went through all that pushing, cramping, and tears to bring your baby into the world.
You have spent the last 6 weeks feeding, changing and soothing your little one while they adjust to life outside the womb. (Don’t forget the lack of sleep!)

Now, it is here. Time to go see your doctor and get your lady bits all checked out.

I don’t know about most of you… But the lady part healing process was not fun. I pushed a baby out of there! How is it all healed and ready to go in just 6 weeks?!

Well, the doctor checks you out and then proceeds to say something along the lines of…

“You can start exercising now. You may also take baths. Oh, and you may resume intercourse again”.

Oh good, can’t wait to resume the thing that MADE the baby and caused my lady parts to feel pain and need 6 weeks to heal. Cool.

I went through the (less than) enjoyable process of taking care of my lady parts after baby was born and now you’re telling me I can resume the act that started it all?

Doc, you crazy! (But seriously…)

All the bleeding, stinging, washing, spraying, dabbing, wearing granny panties and Tylenol you took to help everything down there get back to how it should be… And poof! You’re healed, now go test it.
All I know is the last thing I wanted to do was have something go up there… After it feels like something just came out!

However, though the healing process was uncomfortable and not something I want to go through again for a while…some how it managed to be “good to go” again after just 6 weeks.

At the end of the day, all I can say is how awesome lady parts are! We make a baby, push out a baby and then heal in a pretty quick amount of time! The human body is a miraculous thing.

So, all of you mums in the same boat as me… Enjoy that 6 week check up! 😉
